The implementation of habitat destruction methods that promote native survival under invasion

Controlling invasive alien species invasion and maintaining the survival of native have attracted increasing attention, habitat destruction can be used to achieve these aims. However, whether how promote long-term facing invaders through use remain unclear. In this study, we developed a spatially explicit simulation model in which natives were exposed with different properties, including spatial structure introduction time destruction, interval between two events, proportion destroyed habitat. The results showed following: (1) introducing could species, especially for clustered initial distribution or long-distance dispersal; (2) positive effect on occurred only period after introduction, such that habitats gradually encompassed separated them from invaders, prior substantially decreased abundance species; (3) intermediate high levels most beneficial protection at short dispersal distance; (4) even when ignoring habitats, dispersed an earlier shortening events very natives. These insights help facilitate under by adjusting implementation method destruction.
